About The App

Canfitpro is a certification company specializing in fitness education. They had a large group of fitness professionals that needed more clients. Canfitpro decided to build an app not just for personal trainers but for the clients as well. Users looking for personal trainers will be able to find them within their area. The app will make personal trainers far more accessible to users.

The Goal

The goal was to build an enjoyable application that would make it much easier for the new users looking for personal trainers to have the information they needed to hire certified personal trainers to reach their health and fitness goals.

UX Process

User Research / User Personas

I started the process by researching similar apps, seeking out and understanding competitor’s features. From the list, I found countless apps that featured many of the same features. They all had features for customized workouts, gamification of workouts and geo tagging location.

Through analyzing the results of my research, most apps can help users to control their workouts, and build new workouts but I could not find an app that is really focused on finding certified personal trainers. This was crucial for defining the MVP to reach the market.

Understanding the User’s Needs

In order to understand the user’s journey, I started to interview potential customers addressing problematic points and all the details about how clients of personal trainers keep track of their workouts and how personal trainers keep track of their clients’ information. To create this customer journey, I chose to focus on all users including users that use apps, and don’t use apps to communicate with personal trainers and personal trainers communicating with their clients.

Wireframe / Prototyping

Visual Design

The design was largely based on young and active users in mind while making sure usability and intuitiveness is there for all users. The design aims to give the user a calm experience while using the application but with a modern and fresh and slightly edgy touch.

The user interface had to be very easy to navigate through as well as looking sleek to combat other applications. The app had to be feature rich while keeping things minimalist in nature to make the app more enjoyable.
